What is Prototype

An Open API (often referred to as a Public API) is a publicly available application programming interface that provides programmatic access to a proprietary software application to developers. APIs are sets of requirements that govern how one application can communicate and interact with another. They also allow developers to access certain internal functions of a program. In the simplest terms, an API allows one piece of software to interact with another piece of software. They may be used by both developers inside the organisation that published the API or by any developers outside that organisation who wish to register for access to the interface.

Prototype Design Process

  • Define the Problem.
  • Do Background Research.
  • Specify Requirements.
  • Brainstorm Solutions.
  • Choose the Best Solution.
  • Do Development Work.
  • Build a Prototype.
  • Test and Redesign.

Prototypes are one of the most important steps in the design process, yet still confusing for some designers and project teams.

The most basic definition of prototype is, “A simulation or sample version of a final product, which is used for testing prior to launch.” The goal of a prototype is to test products (and product ideas) before sinking lots of time and money into the final product.

Prototyping is essential for resolving usability issues before launch. It can also reveal areas that need improvement. Once a draft of your product idea is in the hands of real users, you’ll finally see how they want to use the product. You can then go back and adjust your initial guesswork.
